From Joinville-le-Pont to Nogent-sur-Marne: the guinguettes

A walk in the Paris area on the banks of the Marne river to discover the former guinguettes.

An easy walk and short enough (3 hours) on the banks of the Marne river. No need to have car to reach the departure you can directly start from the train station (RER A) of Joinville-le-Pont there are signs in the station indicating the exit to follow. On arrival simply go to the station (RER E) of Nogent Le Perreux to return to Paris. The theme of the walk is the former open-air dance halls which were called "guinguette". It was a kind of restaurant where the workers could dance on sunday afternoon. On the other side of the river you will see one of the last representatives of the guinguettes Chez Gegene.
