Tour of Pont-Aven

Pont-Aven, famous for its school of painting, is a beautiful small town in Brittany

Pont-Aven is a small village, the main resource is the river Aven, its presence has helped the development of mills water to grind grain. The port had never know a great activity because located too far from the sea. It is usable only during certain periods of tides. The destiny of this small village have changed when some Parisian painters in 1860s discovered the town, attracted by the beauty of the landscape and the cost of living, they painted nature all around and the city became famous. Today Pont-Aven lives mainly from tourism, but the city has kept its charm. A place to visit!
