A walk in Evian-les-Bains

Evian is a town on the shores of Lake Geneva near Switzerland

√Čvian-les-Bains is known worldwide for its mineral water. The city centre has a lot of charm, it is very pleasant to walk along Lake Geneva but the visit is still disappointing, if you come to Evian you hope to drink Evian water! But if you want to drink water in Evian, it is better to buy it from the supermarket. The old Buvette Cachat is currently being renovated and will only be reopened in 2020 or 2021. There is indeed an Evian space where you can customize your Evian bottle (!) but it is more of a gadget shop than anything else. As for the thermal baths, they date back to 1984 and are of no interest for the visit unless you come to enjoy the treatments and the swimming pool.

The Cachat Source

The Cachat Source
The Cachat Source is in front of the Buvette Cachat (under renovation). This is the origin of the fame of the city of Evian. If you expect something imposing and monumental, you will be disappointing. There is only a small tap that doesn't flow very fast and people have to wait in line to fill their little bottles. One question: is water different from other fountains in the city?
