You will be immersed in the heart of the historic city of LYON, formerly called LUGDUNUM and classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Walk on the Fourvière hill, dominating the confluence, with a view that goes as far as the Alps, it is the historical center of Lugdunum. Founded by the Romans a few years after the conquest, in 43 AD, Lugdunum is at the head of the largest province of the three Gauls, the Lyonnaise. It is also the political and religious metropolis and the economic capital of Gaul. The city extends over more than 300 hectares, on the hills of Fourvière and Croix-Rousse and in the peninsula, between the Rhone and Saône.
