A walk around the Saint-Ferréol lake with its famous sprays of water

The Saint-Ferréol basin was built in 1667 to provide water for the Canal du Midi. It is especially useful in summer. At the exit of the dam, the water goes in a gutter to join the Canal du Midi 34 kilometers further.

The walk around the lake is very easy and very pleasant. In the middle of the summer, many people from the region come to picnic in the shade of the pines.
