A nice walk along the Seine from the Bir-Hakeim station to the André Citroën Park.

An easy walk which is a little out of the box. The walk starts at the Bir-Hakeim metro station and finishes at Balard station.

The Vel d’hiv that no longer exists was located in the area. On 16 July 1942, 13 152 Jews, including 9 000 adults were arrested. Singles and couples without children were sent to the Drancy camp. Families have been locked in the Vel d’hiv before the departure to the concentration camp. None of the children returned.

The park was created in 1992.

Mediterranean garden

Mediterranean garden
The site has long been an industrial site. In 1915 André Citroen opened an ammunition factory. After the WWI, he transformed the factory to a car factory. The site closed in 1974.

In 1778 the site was already a site dedicated to the airships with balloons inflated with hydrogen. Today you can have a nice view of Paris with a balloon.
